Sports on the Road: Scarborough Athletic (A) Match Preview

Mickleover Sports face a very difficult trip to the North Yorkshire Sea side on Saturday as they take on play off hopefuls Scarborough Athletic. Sports have not scored a goal in any game since the 2-2 draw with Lancaster City back on the 12th January and have scored as fewer goals as bottom of the league and soon to be relegated North Ferriby United. Sports currently sit 20th in the league standing, currently three points from safety behind Hednesford Town. However Sports do have one or two games in hand over many of the teams above them. A betting man looking at this game on paper would go for an easy home banker on this game as Scarborough are 6th in the league, however football isn’t played on paper and John McGrath and his side will be looking to cause an upset in front of a large crowed of well over 1000 fans.

LAST TIME OUT
Scarborough Athletics last game was away to fellow promotion hopefuls Nantwich Town where the points were shared in a 1-1 draw. Luke Lofts had given Scarborough an early lead but a late free kick from Matthew Bell saw Nantwich Town nick a point.

SPORTS TEAM NEWS
Nathan Jarman will be available after his three match ban has now been served for swearing at the linesman at Lancaster City. Shaquille McDonald was the only other injury doubt after suffering a late blow at the end of last Saturdays game with Hyde United but should be ok to play. John McGrath will also be back from his recent injury. New signing Ryan Cresswell looks set to make his debut as well this weekend. Everyone else is presumed fit and available for selection.
