Sports on the Road: Whitby Town (A) Match Preview

Mickleover Sports make the tirp up to the North Yorkshire Moors coast on Saturday afternoon as they face Whitby Town in the Evo Stik League. After two consecutive 0-0 draws over the previous week, Sports will want to rediscover their goal scoring knack against a very strong and competitive side who have a good home record on their home turf. Tuesday night’s result did move Sports up a place to 17th but with many teams having games in hand due to cup runs, it’s vital that Sports take advantage and gain some more points to push further up the league standings. The Seasiders come into the game 10th in the table so will be a real test by the North Sea for John McGrath and his side but they showed away at Witton Albion how well they can play and will be hoping for a similar performance on this long away trip.

LAST TIME OUT
Whitby Town come into game after a 2-1 win away in Cumbria at Workington AFC. A Conor Tinnion goal gave the hosts a half time leads but two goals in as many second half minutes from Whitby’s Andrew Monkhouse and Lewis Maloney saw the visitors snatch the win for The Blues. Sports however come into the game on the back of two 0-0 draws both at home to Nantwich Town and Matlock Town. Positives can be definitely taken with two clean sheets but attacking wise Sports will need to be a bit smarter and clinical in front of the goal if they are going to come away with anything on their latest away outing.

SPORTS TEAM NEWS
Niall Dorran, Tom Burgin and Ben Turner all look set to miss the trip to North Yorkshire through injury. Lewis King will be available with his suspension not kicking in till next week however it is understood the club will be appealing the decision. Everybody else is expected to be fit and available for selection.
