After starting out at Nottingham Forest Academy, Darryl played for Lincoln City, Birmingham City and Crewe Alexandra, plus a loan spell with Bromsgrove Sporting mainly as a centre back.

He can play defensive midfield or right back and has recently returned to football after a career break, before successfully coming through pre-season trials.
