Yusuf Mersin

Current Team
Mickleover F.C.

September 23rd 1994

Starting his career at Millwall, Yusuf was signed by Liverpool for £1m in January 2011 as a 16 year old. He progressed to be part of the first team squad, but didn’t manage to break into the starting line-up.

After 3 1/2 years he was released and went to Turkey to play for Kasimpasa, before returning to the UK at the start of 2016/17 with League Two Crawley Town, where he spent the next three years.

He then joined Dover Athletic in the National League, before moving to Maidstone Utd in May 2021, becoming first choice after the regular keeper was sent off.

After a two-week emergency loan at Welling Utd he was released from Maidstone after a 2 1/2 year spell and began this season with Harland & Wolf Welders in Northern Ireland.

He is a Turkish International at Under 16, 17 and 18 levels and debuted in a Mickleover shirt for the Reserves against Linby Colliery, before seeing out the final run into the play-offs as first choice keeper.
