Perryman Becomes Mickleover FC President

by Peter Scherer

Former Tottemham Hotspur midfielder Steve Perryman has agreed to become the new President of Mickleover FC.

Today I have accepted the invitation to become Club President of Mickleover FC.

I’m proud and honoured to have been asked, and despite being far from my Wiltshire home, I’m extremely happy to join such a fantastic group of real and proper people with great ethics.

I’ve been involved with clubs at all levels of the English football pyramid, starting in 1967 from Yeading FC adviser up to THFC in various capacities, so will be able to offer them words of wisdom, albeit now in my retirement years.

Regards,
Steve Perryman MBE

Apart from making well over 800 appearances at Tottenham, midfielder Perryman was also capped as an England Under 23 and one full cap too.

He also played for Oxford before becoming player manager at Brentford, going onto be carertaker managed at Tottenham, followed by spells with FC Start in Norway and Shimizu S Pulse and Kashiwa Reysol in Japan.

At Tottenham he collected two FA  Cup winers medals, two League Cup and two UEFA Cup.

I have know Steve for a long time and we have become great friends. What an honour for Mickleover, I’m over the moon.

said Mickleover chairman Don Amott.

Keith Loring Invitational Golf Day Online Auction is Launching!

Ahead of the Keith Loring Invitational Golf Day at Morley Hayes Golf Club on the 6th July 2022, his son Paul Loring will be launching today at 7pm the KLIGD Online Auction.

The prizes donated for the Keith Loring Invitational Golf Day Auction have been generously donated by friends and places that were much loved by Keith.

Back in January this year, we as a family wanted to create a portfolio of experiences for this auction, that we knew were some of Keith’s favourite destinations, restaurants and golf courses to relax and enjoy with my mother, Lesley, sister Katie and myself.  The response from everyone has been overwhelming.

All proceeds will be going to the Keith Loring Memorial Fund, The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal & The Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre.

Please enter the link below into your phone or tablet, then register by entering your email address and creating your own password to view and make your bid.  If your bid is successful, you will be contacted to arrange for payment and have your prize delivered to you directly.

Please share the link below with your family, friends & social networks.

Our Supporter’s Lottery has paid out over £3000 so far!

(Image: Our Chairman Don Amott with Keith Loring, the Lottery’s founder)

Since the launch of the Mickleover Supporters Lottery in October 2020, the M.F.S.Lottery has paid out nearly £3000 in prizes to 73 winners, generating funds for the club internally.

This was introduced to the club by the inspirational Keith Loring, who did so much for the football club. Keith Loring during his time as CEO of Brentford Football Club in London launched the Brentford Lifeline Society in 1986, which is still in existence today having been true to its name by donating both directly and indirectly in excess of £2 million to the club over the last 36 years. Keith and Don Amott saw the real value of bringing the supporters and the club together and putting money raised from the lottery back into the club. With the continued support of the Chairman Don Amott and so many, we will continue to increase the lottery memberships.

We thank you all who have been so kind by joining the Mickleover FC Supporters Lottery and look forward to giving out more fantastic prizes in the future.

Sports Exciting New Signing From Alfreton Town

Mickleover FC are over the moon to announce our new signing Eliott Reeves from Alfreton Town.

I’m delighted to commit to Mickleover for the upcoming season. Firstly I think it’s a great club, but it also strikes the right balance between family, friends, work and playing at the club which makes me happy. I met the gaffer John McGrath for a coffee and we both share the same ambition for promotion. I’m already excited about next season and I’m hoping I can put in some good performances for the club and score plenty of goals.

Eliott Reeves

Eliott is someone who will add real quality to our attacking line up.  I’ve tried to sign him on numerous occasions over the last few seasons and I’m delighted to finally get him to Mickleover. He’s an exciting centre-forward with a keen eye for goal and I am really looking forward to working closely with him over the upcoming new season.

Another Loyal Sports Fan Passes

by Peter Scherer

Everyone at Mickleover will be sad to learn of the death of another loyal fan.

Mark Wright had been a regular supporter for over 10 years and would often bring his father who was in his 90’s, along to the games too.

Mark’s family have followed in his footsteps and are often pitch side for our games.

Our thoughts and good wishes are with Mark’s relatives and friends.
