A former Mansfield Town junior, James is a holding midfielder who spent last season with AFC Mansfield.

He was the first new signing for 25/26 and has also played for Carlton Town, Frickley Athletic, Sherwood Colliery and Hallam, as well as competing in triathlon and ironman events nationally and internationally.
