Sports Exciting New Signing From Alfreton Town

Mickleover FC are over the moon to announce our new signing Eliott Reeves from Alfreton Town.

I’m delighted to commit to Mickleover for the upcoming season. Firstly I think it’s a great club, but it also strikes the right balance between family, friends, work and playing at the club which makes me happy. I met the gaffer John McGrath for a coffee and we both share the same ambition for promotion. I’m already excited about next season and I’m hoping I can put in some good performances for the club and score plenty of goals.

Eliott Reeves

Eliott is someone who will add real quality to our attacking line up.  I’ve tried to sign him on numerous occasions over the last few seasons and I’m delighted to finally get him to Mickleover. He’s an exciting centre-forward with a keen eye for goal and I am really looking forward to working closely with him over the upcoming new season.

Another Loyal Sports Fan Passes

by Peter Scherer

Everyone at Mickleover will be sad to learn of the death of another loyal fan.

Mark Wright had been a regular supporter for over 10 years and would often bring his father who was in his 90’s, along to the games too.

Mark’s family have followed in his footsteps and are often pitch side for our games.

Our thoughts and good wishes are with Mark’s relatives and friends.

The Loss of Another Mickleover FC Legend

Mickleover FC have announced the passing of their popular committee man, the ‘Raffle man’, Alan Brown.

Brownie as he was known as, passed away on Saturday after a battle against Cancer. Anyone who visited Mickleover will remember him at the gate selling his raffle tickets with quotes such as ‘have a go, your mother did’.  His shouts from the stand ‘come on Sports’ could be heard all over the ground.

Visitors Stourbridge even made up a song ‘there’s only one Murray Walker’ due to a resemblance to the Formula 1 commentator.

Past players have inundated the club with messages of goodwill to a very popular character- a true ‘football man’.

Brownie will be greatly missed by everyone at the club.
